The hero I chose is Frodo from the movie and book The Lord of the rings. The reason I chose Frodo is because he is a hero who fits the hero characteristics but also because of the task he completed in the story was so hard, but he was able to endure and finish the task. Hence because of the qualities, Frodo is a true hero.
1) Call to adventure - Frodo was called to an adventure when the wise consul in Rivendell asked a group of elves, dwarves, and humans to take the ring to Mount Mordor to destroy the ring. Because the one elf asked for someone to travel to Mordor and destroy the ring, it was a call of adventure for Frodo.
2) Throughout the journey to Mordor, there are challenges ranging from soldiers, big cliffs, distrust, a big spider, etc. Therefore because of these challenges he faced, he went through this requirement for hero's.
3) At the end of the movie Frodo achieved his goal he set out for. He set out to destroy the ring and in the end the ring was destroyed therefore he accomplished his goal.
4) After Frodo destroyed the ring and was rescued from Mount mordor, he eventually returned to his home. Therefore Frodo fits this requirement.
5) The strenuous journey forever changed Frodo, although the movie does not show a very visable change, Frodo has been changed. It is apparent from the first movie to the last that Frodo appreciates and is much more serious about life. Therefore because he was changed from the journey he fits this requirement.
